Troubleshoot Login Issues: Get to Your Account

Our login method uses a deeplink mechanism to redirect users back to the app seamlessly after successful authentication, either via social media login or a 1-click login link. However, depending on the device, operating system, browser settings, or even network restrictions, deeplink behavior can sometimes be inconsistent, resulting in login issues.

Deeplinks are supported across platforms (Android and iOS), but each platform and app has its own handling logic, which can affect the smooth redirection back to the app. Certain configurations, browser restrictions, or third-party email clients may block or mishandle deeplinks.

Common Factors That May Affect Login via Deeplink

  • Blocked or Restricted Services: Some apps, networks, or OS-level settings may block deeplink redirection mechanisms, especially if they rely on services like Google or Apple for validation.
  • Email Clients Limiting External Redirection: Certain email clients, like Microsoft Outlook, may block or fail to open external links properly. See more here: Outlook and Deep Linking Limitations – Microsoft Docs

iOS Troubleshooting Steps

If the 1-click login link doesn't open the app automatically:

  1. Copy the login link.
  2. Paste it into Safari's address bar, but don’t press Go yet.
  3. Wait a moment. If iOS detects that the app can open the link, a prompt will appear: “Open in [App Name]”
  4. Tap that prompt to proceed.
  5. If issues persist, try restarting the device to reset app association caching. Reference: Fixing AASA File Issues – Branch.io

Android Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Opening Links, and ensure that “Instant Apps” is enabled.
  2. On Samsung devices, go to:

Samsung Internet Browser > Settings > Security and Privacy > Disable “Block Opening External Apps” Reference: Samsung Forum – Disabled Links in Emails
